The Nottingham Forest Study Support Center Summer School is now in full swing with pupils from the Big Wood and Bulwell EAZs involved in a wide variety of activities. All pupils have been involved in an education project based around the Olympics designing flags, new sports, national anthems, T shirts and working together as teams to solve practical problems. Pupils have received football coaching from one of the clubs community officer's whilst another group has been spending time at the Arches Adventure Base learning how to canoe, climb and orienteer. The courses have proved to be extremely popular with an attendance rate of over 96%
The Summer school has been funded through a NOF grant and supported by the local Study Support Centres. The final part of the Summer School will see all three hundred pupils travel to Shropshire to spend a day at the Kingswood activity centre where they will be given the opportunity to try out adventurous activities such as climbing, quad biking, archery, zip wires, caving and abseiling.
