ACADEMY SUPPORTS OUR PUPILS
Players from the Academy have been busy once again this season supporting pupils at the Study Centre. They have worked alongside centre staff to support the youngsters in such activities as team building games, film making, literacy and numeracy programmes on the computer. It is a two way partnership as communication is one of the key skills areas the Academy players are involved in with their studies.
“The opportunity for the pupils to work with the Academy adds a new dimension to the programme of work at the centre. Pupils look forward to working with the players and have really enjoyed the interview work in the press room which has greatly helped their speaking and listening skills. The Academy players are looked upon as role models by the youngsters which aids the learning process”-Jane Francis – Centre teacher
