Mission Statement

The Ace Base Study Support Centre will seek to provide opportunities for young people to become self motivated learners and to believe in themselves and their own ability to achieve. The centre will help young people to practise key skills which will enable them to learn more effectively, think more creatively and study more systematically.

Study Centre Background

As part of the Government's drive to raise standards in education, the Department for Education and Skills launched a Playing for Success out of school hours learning initiative. The initiative invites Local Education Authorities and sports clubs to establish and develop Study Suport Centres at sports grounds. The Study Support Centre uses the sports environment as a motivational tool to raise pupil achievement and Key Stage two and three in the areas of literacy, numeracy and ICT. Located at the Nottingham Tennis Centre, the Ace Base Study Support Centre was opened in 2003.
